Allegro Fender 1970 5 String Bluegrass Banjo bought in 1973 & played as a hobby.

FenderAllegro 1970 5-String Bluegrass Banjo.  The 5-string banjo and Bluegrass music was a newfound pleasure for me.  In the late '60's I managed to pick up a cheap banjo- a  banjo but that was just that- -cheap!!  So I shopped around and found this one, new, in a music shop in Buffalo, NY.  What a joy!  I had been  working long hours and didn't have time to take lessons. Lessons were put off until we moved to Asheville, NC- 30 years later.  I really enjoyed the lessons but I soon learned that I lacked that "something."  I also was well over 80 at the time!  That might have had something to do with it!
There was some slippage in holding the tuning on the 5th string that required fixing;  it holds its pitch perfectly now!
I dropped playing for a spell and when I did  try to resume playing, my hearing had seriously deteriorated, as well as my energy and vision.  But  while it lasted, I had a great time learning and playing for my self and very much miss my time with it.
But, most importantly for anyone interested, It's a great American product and it is in EXCELLENT condition!....and very ready for a new owner!
