The sailboat model is built exactly to scale as the original Drakkar Viking Ship was with many details. The task required skillful craftsmen hundreds of hours to accomplish. Drakkar or Longship

Drakkar as Ormen Lange, means the Long Snake was decorated with a dragon head figurehead) known as a Dragon Ship by the Vikings enemies. These warships along with their fearless Viking crewmembers terrified Europe millenniums ago.
In those days only a Viking King could afford a ship of this size (around 28 meters). The ships were used as assault ships and could deliver up to 400 Viking Warriors to a coastal battle field. The decks were planked over and there were no sleeping quarters aboard, personal gear was stored in chests which the rowers used for seats when rowing.
The model measures 25" long from bow to stern. It's a fabulous ship model that will be a conversation piece for any room or office.
