Old Antique 1899 A.C. FAIRBANKS Made in Boston
BANJO Musical Instrument
this has no strings, a torn head and lots of age issues
being sold AS IS hopefully for a restoration project, antique musical decor or for replacement parts
I don't know anything about banjos so am not an expert
the metal round pot measures 11.25" diameter
several metal brackets are gone from around the rim
inner wooden hoop has protruding hex shaped fasteners
the dark ebony wooden head is 16" long
mother of pearl inlaid design at peghead and MOP position markers
some inlay pieces gone
metal name plate attached to back center
inside wood hoop is stamped 18582
round metal "electric?" model back part can be slided on a screw
neck cracked in half and badly reglued at base
some metal fret markers missing
some wooden area chipped at peghead and on base of neck (where fretboard meets pot)
plastic tuning pegs
metal pot has been quickly cleaned but this really needs polishing
